With renewed vigor, the volunteer Taos Fall Arts Festival board is working diligently to make 2011 Festival an exciting event. The quality in this year’s show is outstanding and we have added new events for increased interest, energy and participation by artists, art enthusiasts, and Taos Visitors alike.

The Taos Select, formally known as "Taos Invites" is a juried show this year. We had a great response to the call for artwork and are pleased with the independent Juror’s selection.

The ever popular Taos Openhas always been an exciting show. We never know who or what will be shown, It has been found that some visitors spend more time at this show looking for the unexpected.

For the second year in a row we did a call for Artists to submit
for the poster selection. We are pleased that Stephen Kilbourn
was chosen wiith his image "Cottonwood and Red wall.
Stephen will be signing posters on the opening evening
of the show.

An exciting addition to the Taos Fall Arts Festival will be the Distinguished Achievement Award Series. We will be honoring G. Phil Poirier, Victor Goler and Julian Robles. Visit the Distinguished Achievement Award Series page for information about purchasing tickets for this event on Friday, September 23rd at 4PM.

To underscore our interest in youth art programming and to return to community sharing, the board has elected to establish the Kid's Give Back Program.

Taos Fall Arts Festival is excited to present our first Wearable Art Fashion Show on Saturday, October 1st, 6 to 8 pm at the Taos Convention Center. Join us for this fashionable affair featuring Taos designers and artisans.

A first for this year’s Fall Arts Festival is the “ Taos Art Colony” group photo at the KTAO Solar Center. The public is invited to witness this historic occasion taking place September 25th at 5:30 pm and talk with the artists who make up the vibrant creative community. The fun doesn’t end there, at 7:30 pm a dance party and cash bar will kick off this year’s Fall Arts Festival.

This years show will have cash awards. A Best of show award, and 4 Juror’s choice Awards on both the Taos Select and the Taos Open show. Opening night we are bring back the Peoples choice award.
